Ch ch ch ch changes ..............

Yup, apart from the brand new show you can listen to now, over on the right hand side of the page you'll see a copy of this little icon. And if you click on the icon you'll open up a new little window which you can use to play the current playlist and a random selection from our archive in the background to whatever it is you happen to be doing. We think this little window will also work for handheld devices if they can do Flash. My old Toshiba can manage it.
If anyone wants a link for that just leave us a message and we'll pass it on to you and put the link on the page for others.

While I have links on the brain, we do have a links page if you want to find a website for anyone we've featured on the site, and there is also code for a Virtual Open Mic banner link if you fancy publicising us on your own webpage or myspace page, or whatever.
Just a thought, folks.

And if you feel like listening to more we have an archive page where you can hear lots more tracks, or you can follow up the artists here on their own websites.

News and comment ...............

Along with the music, the new VOM will bring you news about artists, bands and venues.
We're also prepared to open our big mouths and add some comment about what is going on in the acoustic music scene. So there will always be something here to interest anyone who loves real music.
Tell us what you want to see here, and if we think it's possible and what people want, we will try and do it.

 Hello there, in response to your feedback blog. It's a funny thing, as a musician feedback can be a good thing I think, at least if its constructive in it's form. Looking at my site stats shows me that there is a lot of traffic on the site.I can see through Cdbaby and myspace that lots of people are listening to what I am doing. But do I ever get feedback? Well rarely, normally podcasters. I wonder whether it is a throw back to the old days when you could not or were not allowed direct contact with the musicians or at least the stars. Anyway I digress I think what you are doing is great, it helps people like myself and many others get heard on a wider scale.It's an outlet, another chip away from the major labels who in my opinion stunted the growth of music for far to long.Big thanks to you. The site is simple in it's layout, the music loads quickly. Nice one and thanks.:)

Back with a new style, this is just a preview of how we're going to look.
The tracks currently on the player are just a few home recordings of mine put here for testing purposes. In the future we'll be playing the best acoustic music we can find.

Virtual Open Mic will bring you music that's chosen because we think it's good - not by how much money has been spent on slick production and the corporate publicity machine. This will be a place for music that is raw honest and above all - good listening.
We believe the strength of musical culture lies in the grass roots and we want to take care of that garden! Have a good time in our garden, folks.
